Day 234 - TGIF Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

Our cat hasn’t let us out of his sight since we got home from our trip. He really misses us when we are gone. (And we miss him). I happend to catch this photo of him mid yawn…makes him look like he has gone a bit bonkers.

Day 233 - My Junior Rangers Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

Not much of a photo for today. More of a snapshot really, but it was all I had. We traveled back from Southern Utah. On this trip the kids earned two Junior Ranger badges. We try to do the Junior Ranger program at all the National Parks that we visit. Some state parks even have the program. We bought the vests to sew on the Junior Ranger patches and pin on the badges. They are holding the recently shedded skin of the snake behind them.

Day 232 - Angels Landed Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

Another day at Zion National Park. We spend about 5 hours hiking the Angels Landing trail. Wow…what a trail! It was fun and exhausting.

Day 231 - Leaping Lizards Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

We went to Zions National Park and saw a lot of wildlife. It was hard to decided which photo to use, but I liked the DOF and the environment of this one.

Day 230 - Trolling the Laundromat Taken with the iPhone Camera.

We decided to extend our vacation a few days, so we had to get some laundry done. We spent part of Memorial Day in a Laundromat.

Day 229 - Not So Snowy Snow Canyon Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

I decided on a scenic photo for today. We spent some time today on a beach at a near by reservoir, but non of the photos from that mini adventure seemed right. And so I give to you, Snow Canyon State Park. It was named Snow canyon, not because of the white stuff, but after the name of an individual.

Day 228 - No Man's Land Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Spent the day in and around Snow Canyon State Park near St. George, Utah. My internet connection is REALLY slow, but at least I found a way to post today’s photo.

Day 227 - On The Road Again Taken with the iPhone camera.

This photo is the first one I’m posting on the day after it was taken. I was busy packing and driving…and the photo isn’t even that interesting, but at least I took ONE photo.

Day 226 - The Ugly Gosling Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Sigma 70-300mm1:4-5.6. Edited in Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz Adjust.

Okay, before I get hate mail…I don’t think these gosling are ugly. :) I named this photo that because of Tasra’s Theme Thursday theme…diversity, and because the the story of The Ugly Ducking. I have vivid memories of that story from my childhood. My parents created duck puppets out of Styrofoam and feathers and my siblings and I acted out that story in a puppet show. That story taught me a great deal about diversity, that often we do not understand the true potential of others. It also gave me hope that when I grew up maybe I wouldn’t be as ugly as my brothers…didn’t happen. ;)

Day 225 - Scout's Honor Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

James Jr. received his “Arrow of Light” award tonight and has officially moved from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. I usually don’t use selective color, but on this one I desaturated everything but the most saturated colors. It left the beads and his blue shirt in color and the liquid in the jar still looked like it was glowing. (The ceremony that Joseph put on was cool and involved making the stuff in the jar glow.)
