Day 220 - Make Applesause Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom.

You have heard of the the old saying, “When life hands you lemons, make lemon aid.” Well, what do you do if life hands you apples? Think about it…no matter how badly you mess things up…at least you have applesauce. :)

Day 219 - Making Faces Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom,

I thought this was a funny photo of my cat making faces at the camera.

Today went well…I made a deal with my past employer for all the equipment that I’m going to need.

Day 218 - Friends Taken with the Nikon D90. Edited in Lightroom.

My daughter, Samantha and her friend “D”.

Regarding employment, I have an appointment tomorrow morning at the company where I was laid-off. I’m hopping to turn them into my first client. After all, I happen to know that they don’t have anyone doing my old job. :)

Day 217 - Simple Together Taken with the Nikon D90 and Lensbaby. Edited in Lightroom.

It’s been a busy day. I woke up at 4:00 am thinking about the family finances. I’ve made a lot of progress today. Not a bad day for my first day without a job. Sometimes the best solutions are the simple ones.

Day 216 - Lilac Taken with the iPhone camera. Edited in Lightroom.

Lilacs are some of my favorite flowers, mostly because they smell so amazing. This one really was taken with the camera from my iPhone.

On a separate note, I was layed off from work today. So it’s not the happiest day…but I looking at it as an opportunity to start something new.

Day 215 - Knot the Terminator Taken with the iPhone Camera

James Jr. was working on his knots tonight with one of his scout leaders, Joseph. I thought after I looked at the photo that Joseph had a certain Terminator quality about him. I’ll be back!

Day 214 - Bleeding Hearts of the World Unite Taken with the Nikon D90 and Lensbaby. Edited in Lightroom

Day 214…get it? 2/14! I like playing with numbers. This is from a Bleeding Heart plant in our front yard. Bleeding Hearts are one of the most unusual flowers I can think of. But if I was to name the flower, I would have named it Weeping Heart. I like that better, and I think it fits the flower a bit better. Oh well, they didn’t ask me.

Day 213 - Look Who's 40 Taken with the iPhone Camera

Well I made it. I’m now 40 years old. Don’t I look thrilled.

Day 212 - Gone Fishin' Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom, Photoshop and Color Efex Pro.

Not me…the bird. I found a new spot near work to take pictures. I sat and watched these birds for a few minutes while they fished. Within a couple of minutes a couple of them each caught a small fish and swallowed it down. It was quite the sight. Would have been nice to have my 300mm lens so I could have captured more of the fishin’.

BTW, I didn’t notice at the time, but there are two ducks hiding in the picture. Can you spot them?

Day 211 - Cloudy With A Chance of Awesome Taken with the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

While driving home from work today, I couldn’t help but admire how cool the clouds looked today.
